Spoiled Puppy!!!

Today is my baby boy's birthday!!!! He is 2 years old!!!! I know some of you may think that I am a bit crazy for doing this, that's okay so does my husband. ;)  My Maverick means the world to me!! He is my first baby!
When I went to pick him up in Tennessee from the breeder, he was on top of a hill of hay with his butt up in the air wagging his curly tail and barking!! He was the only one out of the whole litter with a curly tail!! He was the runt, weighing in at only 9 pounds....and he now weighs 150 pounds!!! Such a perfect boy!!

Anyway, I made him his very own birthday cake today!!! It was so much fun and I know that he will enjoy it later!!!
If there may be any of you that love your puppies as much as I love mine try out my recipe!!

What you will need:
*1/4 C oil (I used vegetable oil)
*1/4 C Applesauce, unsweetened
*2 Tbsp Molasses
*1/2 C Pumpkin
*2 Tbsp Peanut Butter (Choosy Mom's Choose Jiff)  ;)
*2 Eggs
*1 C Flour
*1 tsp Baking Soda
*Cream Cheese, softened
*More peanut butter ;)
*NON CHOCOLATE Sprinkles ;)
*Big Bowl
*Fork
*Cooking Spray

Preheat your oven to 350*

First, add your Oil, Applesauce, & Molasses, mix with a fork

Next, add in your pumpkin, mix with fork

Next is your peanut butter....mix with that fork ;)

Now add your eggs, ONE AT A TIME, mixing with your, you got it....fork!

In a separate bowl mix your flour and baking soda.

Now SLOWLY add in your flour and baking soda mixture a little at a time....still using that fork

Spray your pan GENEROUSLY with some cooking spray.

Add your mixture to your pan.  (I used a small square pan because I cut bone shapes out of the cake)

Don't deprive your dog of licking that batter!!! You lick the batter for your cakes!!! ;)

Cook for 20 minutes, or until a toothpick (or knife ;) ) is clean.

I then cut the cake into 2 "Doggie Bone" shapes to make a double Decker cake ;)
I put the first cut out "Doggie Bone" on a plate and covered it in peanut butter!!

Then I put the second cut out on top of the peanut butter one and covered it in cream cheese!!!
Then I added the sprinkles!!

AND TA DA!! You have your Puppy's Birthday Cake :)

Maverick seriously enjoyed his cake!!!!!

  1. This recipe is awesome. Thanks for sharing. I love that you let him lick the bowl. I don't feel so crazy now that I know someone else feels the same about their furry baby as I do.
